Yogurt, fruit, and granola oh my!
I've been craving the above concoction for the past week. I finally made it to the grocery store to buy the necessary ingredients. I am proud of myself- it's definitely one my healthier cravings. I have enjoyed two hearty bowls of this dish today! What did you ladies crave during your pregnancies?

Hmm... actually, chicken Caesar salads... fruit... lots of healthy things (until the Great Ho-ho Craving of 2006, around month 8, that is!)
ReplyDeleteI had more anti-cravings - bread and chocolate were revolting, and unflavored water was completely gag-inducing. Crystal Light was totally my friend... aspartame or no!
The bad news is that my "fresh produce" cravings went away around the time of the aforementioned Great Ho-ho Craving, and it was all downhill (and retaining water!!!) from there.
Good luck maintaining your healthy habits!!! :-) It really is a great time to eat great (-for-you) food!!! :-)
I eat the fruit and yogurt all the time! Love it! I can't remember back that far! I just remember I hated the smell of bacon and it made me ralph every time! NOW I LOVE IT!!! LOL Your PG pic's are soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteFroot Loops! I eat two bowls of those a day.
ReplyDeleteAnd french fries and burgers, but wait, I crave those when I'm not pregnant.
I craved Corn Pops and canned Peaches. Don't care for the peaches anymore. You've had the yogurt parfait from McDonalds, haven't you? Lest you assume anything about me and McDonalds, that is the ONLY thing I order there! :)
ReplyDeleteI craved probably anything SALTY. Now that I think of it, it makes me sick. I later learned that if you crave salt youre actually craving potassium and then you should eat a banana. I loved spaghetti-o's, miso soup, pastas (even more than I love them on a normal basis), carrots. I couldnt touch chicken, it made me really sick to my stomach and eventually throwing it up.
ReplyDeleteWith this little guy I NEED fresh fruit, nectorines mostly, lettuce or spinach salad. Cherries are always a plus, but theyre so darn expensive now, we just bought a bag yesterday and had to make a loan from the bank to buy it. :) I can eat chicken now but just in small small bits.
I like how you posted this, its fun to hear what people ate. I think I might do it too.
Yum, yogurt, fruit and granola, I think I might try some. Im down with the gal who likes Mcdonalds parfaits. I agree with her, they are soooooo good. Thats what Jar and I get there too.
I craved cinnamon Life cereal, and ate a couple bowls a day! I'm surprised at how many women craved cereal, but I guess if you have to crave anything then cereal is definitely a great choice (low in sodium and calories)! I also craved fruit smoothies or anything with fresh fruit...yum, that makes me want one right now actually!
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what I had like every day of my 2nd pregnancy. I used to make them into parfaits. They are so good, in fact, I might like one right now.
ReplyDeleteWith Jason I craved Root Beer floats, and this pregnancy has been biscuits and gravy, and nachos. Yours sounds MUCH healthier!
ReplyDeleteMMMM - that looks good!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!
ReplyDeleteDo I have a couple of doozy craving stories?...Yes, I do!
With my first baby, I craved a corndog for only one day. I ate it and then never again! Then i had to have homemade eggMcmuffins...BLAH!
I can't remember having any cravings with Cache. With Bellamie it was oranges! I ate them until my tongue swelled.
I could NOT eat leftovers with all three...oh, wait! Still not much of a fan of leftovers...at least I don't get gaggy with them now though. Also I could not eat potatos with my first...crazy heartburn would attack my already sensitive tummy...so I gave them up quickly!
Goldfish. McDonald's cheeseburgers and fries. Cheese tortillas. Ok, I was obsessed with cheese anything! Once I made Ry leave church with me to go get a cheeseburger, I'm not even joking. I also craved refried beans and pasta. My third trimester was all about junk, though. I only wanted brownies, cookies, and ice cream!
ReplyDeleteoh ya, with this boy Im craving CRAB. If only I could afford a bushel of crab from Maryland right now, and if only I could pay for the freight truck......... and if only fish didnt have mercury, however I did some research and crab from the maryland area has the least amount of mercury, but still I dont want to push the limits. I swear I could just eat it all the time if I could.
