BABIES FULL NAME? Rowan Brady Larson
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THAT SPECIFIC NAME? Jonathan chose it. He heard it at a children's museum. There was really no changing his mind and I did not put up much of a fight. However, had we debated between a couple names then Rowan might have been named Oliver. And his middle name may have been Jude. I imagine we'll have more kids- so nobody can still those names- I may need them in the future.
WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME? Yep, we were married- we had been married for about a year and a half when we got pregnant. Not too long but we're both getting older- I think 26 is a great age to start having kids.
WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS? Shock. We weren't trying to have a baby. I was super excited though. When I knew there was a chance that I may be pregnant I couldn't wait to take a test- and when I saw that it was positive my mouth dropped. Jon was nervous and scared- but he got more excited as time went on- when he saw me growing and when he felt the baby move he got a big grin on his face. Don't tell him I told you, but he got teary eyed when Rowan was born.
DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX? YES! Couldn't wait to find out. I wanted to know so I could shop for clothes, nursery, and all other necessary items.
DUE DATE? September 19th, 2008
DID YOU DELIVER EARLY OR LATE? 4 days late. And man was it hard to wait!
DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS? Not really. I got nauseated, but I only puked once the entire pregnancy. I admit, I had it pretty easy in comparison to some other poor souls.
WHAT DID YOU CRAVE? Junk food- oh wait, that is pretty normal for me. I really liked fast food the first 3 months. I craved healthier things in the last trimester.
WHO IRRITATED YOU THE MOST? Hmmm well I was not around that many people- so Jon probably had to take the brunt of my mood swings.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CHILD'S SEX? A boy.
DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS WITH YOUR PREGNANCY? No- everything went really well.
HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR? From start to finish- 10 hours. I am so lucky and glad that it was not any longer.
WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL? Jonathan- and we missed the exit.
WHO WAS IN THE DELIVERY ROOM? Jonathan, my two nurses, and at the very end Dr. Lepetich (A.K.A.- Will Ferrel's look-alike).
WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION? Natural- and it was not as bad as I thought it would be- not bad at all.
DID YOU HAVE AN EPIDURAL? OH you better believe I had the epidural- and I LOVED IT. I will get one of those next time fo sho!
HOW MUCH DID YOUR BABY WEIGH? He weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces. Now he is a little over 3 weeks old and he weighs 9 pounds 3 ounces.
DID YOUR BABY HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS? Ummm not really. He was put on my chest right after he was born and they had to take him away briefly to get his breathing normal- but he was fine.
WHAT HOSPITAL DID YOU DELIVER AT? Banner Desert in Mesa, AZ
HOW OLD IS YOUR FIRSTBORN NOW? 3 weeks 3 days
signing off,
Heather

ReplyDeleteAren't epidurals from heaven! Loved mine too. I loved that you missed the exit. That is classic.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! What a great idea, writing that all up - and yes, he's definitely a beautiful little boy! :-)
ReplyDeleteHeather- he is such a beautiful baby! Congratulations! These are such fun little facts to read about and something that you will be happy to always have to remember. THanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteoh Heather, how I love you!
ReplyDeleteand because of you, Becca and my cousin I think I might try the twilight saga.....maybe. (I love the "sleeping beauties picture").
Are Arizona's exits on the left and right? When I was in Maryland with Jar I thought it was so strange and akward to have them on both sides, calls for pretty scary driving.
my heart would have sunk if Jar missed the exit, thats when I would have closed my eyes, prayed and breathed, hoping I wouldnt slug him. :)
He is so cute! Don't you just love being a mom? Ad I love having my boy first! But I am hoping for girl next! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I love epidurals too! The first time I had a baby I held off as long as I could before getting one but I'm so glad I did. Then the next baby I asked for one as soon as I got to the hospital. Don't think I'll ever go without one if I can help it.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Curtis and I are debating on our boy name too. He's pretty certain he knows at least the first name. I keep telling him that I wasn't totally convinced but I think I may have to surrender.
That is a great picture. I can't believe he is almost a month old. I am glad you had no problems!
