Tuesday Factoids

This is soon becoming my favorite picture to capture: My boy's sleeping.
(Jon is really good at getting Rowan asleep- I love this man)
I was grocery shopping when I passed the donuts- I couldn't resist buying this double chocolate cake donut with sprinkles- Jon's favorite. His little surprise for when he gets home from work.
I owed Jon a donut ( at the very least) because he bought this for me as a surprise. We had been talking about getting one so I could get a few things done during the day- you know, because Mr. Cuddles- A.K.A. -ROWAN- likes to be snuggled- this swing machine seems to work almost as well as mom or dad's arms. Also, Rowan is 3 weeks old today! He went to the doc and now weighs 9 lbs 3 oz and is 22 inches long- that means he has gained a pound and an inch since birth!
I wanted to attend an auction this weekend in Mesa in support of NieNie, but we are going out of town. So I decided to make some of her dishes that she has on her additional blog (cuisinenie) this week as my little way of keeping her spirit alive while she continues to recover. Plus, her food looks really good- so I think Jon and I are in for a treat. I started off by having her favorite breakfast this morning.
Next I made her chocolate chip cookies- Jon will love these- and so will our butts, thighs, and guts.
For dinner I made NieNie's whole wheat spaghetti- and it was really good! Jon LOVED it. NieNie can cook and her recipe's are healthy! I am excited to make more of her dishes.
This is quickly becoming my favorite after dinner- or after breakfast or lunch- dessert. Vanilla bean ice-cream and fresh berries. YUMMY!

  1. Looks like Rowan loves the swing. Now you can have some more time, hopefully. And I want some of those cookies!

  2. I tell ya, those swings are the best thing EVER! My kids always sleep better in those than in their beds for the first 6 months of life.

  5. We love our swing. Jill sleeps in her crib during the day, but at night when we are too tired to fight with her in her crib, she sleeps in the swing. LIFESAVER! Can you believe they are 3 weeks already? crazy!

  6. I love reading about all of your adventures in BABYLAND! I think that it is so sweet that you are allowing us all the priviledge to look in on your life as a new mommy and family...it really brings back the memories of my first baby and just having an infant in the home. Rowan is so adorable and teeny! It is amazing how quickly I have forgotten how teeny newborns are....so PRECIOUS!
Keep up the good work superMOM!!
