Getting to Know you Christmas TAG

December 5th
Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your friends.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
Bags are cute- BUT I really like getting wrapping paper with coordinating ribbons and bows. Plus, I have a HUGE roll of Christmas wrapping paper that I got from Dillard's for free when I worked there- I'll be using it for many years to come.

2. Real tree or Artificial?
I really wanted a real one this year. I wanted to be part of the whole "go pick out your Christmas tree" adventure, but alas, I once again am using my $20 fake tree from Walmart.

3. When do you put up the tree?
The hubs insists I wait until Thanksgiving is over. This year we did it December 1st. No later then that though!

4. When do you take the tree down? I gradually get everything put away during the first week of Januray.

5. Do you like eggnog?
In small portions- and I go 1/2 eggnog and 1/2 milk.

6. Favorite gift received as a child?
Well, I did love Barbie. And since I can't remember everything I was ever given I guess it would have to be anything Barbie related.

7. Hardest person to buy for?
My mom! She buys everything for herself before I have a chance to give it to her as a gift!
I am also clueless when it comes to my dad, the hubs, and my father-in-law.

8. Easiest person to buy for?
Kids. They like everything- as long as it's not socks!

9. Do you have a nativity scene?
Yes I do. 3 to be exact. The hubs got a really groovy one when he was on his mission in S. Africa.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards?
Mail. Emailing them would have been friendlier on the wallet though- you better enjoy them folks!

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
Hmm. I don't think I have ever gotten a bad gift- a random gift maybe- but never a bad one.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
Oh, Christmas Vacation probably. It's just so quotable!

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
First let me say I hate black Friday- never have shopped on that day and never will. I start in November and gradually get everything I need.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
Yes. No, I will not say what it was or who it was from.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
There are so many good things. I am eating way to many sugar cookies right now. The rice pudding Kelly makes each year for our traditional Christmas Eve game is really good- I love rice pudding.

16. All time favorite Christmas present?
My engagement ring and a proposal of marriage!

17. Favorite Christmas song?
The 3 songs on my playlist right now.
"Where are you Christmas"
"Oh Holy Night"
"All I want for Christmas"

18.Travel at Christmas or stay at home?
I don't think I would want to travel anywhere but to the hubs parent's home or my parent's homes. Eventually we will stay at our own home- and I look forward to that- having my own family traditions and being woken up at 6 in the a.m. by little excited children.

1 9. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's?
Probably if I start to sing "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" in my head. Did you want me to do it now?

20. Angel on the tree top or a star?
I have put a santa hat on top for the past 3 years now. I already had it, so I save myself the money (and hassle) by using what I already have at home.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
Definitely morning. But I like having a gift to open Christmas Eve- some people do pj's- my mom gave us all ornaments when we were growing up.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?
Black Friday- when people are getting trampled to death all in the name of a good deal- please people. Pay full price.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color?
Not sure. Right now my tree and its ornaments are pretty scattered and random. I have Marilyn Monroe, Scarlett O'hara, I Love Lucy, blue glass balls, and some other ones I have gotten here and there. Someday I want to put together a themed/color coordinated tree, but for now I use what I have.

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner?
Pretty much the stuff you eat on Thanksgiving. With some non-alcoholic bubbly!

25 What do you want for Christmas this year?
A small portable camera I can take anywhere and everywhere so I can snap pictures of my baby all the time!

ho ho ho YOU'RE IT!
1. Jaime A
2. Hillary W
3. Hillary M

(and of course anyone else who wants to have some fun and reminisce!)
