Is it wrong that I considered this his bath for the day?
What? It's chlorinated.

Yesterday some of my home girls and I took the kids to the Tempe Splash Park. Holy awesome. Why have I not gone here before? I mean, hello, I live in Arizona! It was 100 degrees out the other day. In a nutshell, when you live in Arizona water is your best friend. Not only do you need to drink loads of it, but you also have to immerse yourself in it frequently 1.) because you sweat a lot here. Sweat = smelliness, and believe me, from May to September I feel like I smell all the time. 2.) it's the only way to find some sort of comfort when it's 112+ out for a week straight - that or sit in your home ALL DAY with the AC running - if you are a fan of a sky high power bill then by all means go with option 2. Oh so yes, why had I not been to this place before? Oh because I have a comfort zone and that comfort zone has a three mile radius around my apartment. My zone includes Michaels, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Target, the grocery store, and church. Yeah. However, I am discovering to be a good mom I better expand the comfort zone for my child, cause he LOVED the splash park. Loved it. He sat and splashed for a good hour and a half and didn't have a care in the world. Not until I brought him over to the grass and pulled out the bottle. It was at that instant he realized he had a stomache and it was starving. He couldn't get the bottle into his mouth fast enough. Even though I will probably get lost expanding upon my 3 mile radius, I am sure it will be worth it since I want my son to be socially competent and well rounded. Here is to new adventures in Chandler (and surrounding areas) and a lower AC bill.

Love that picture!

Looks like a TON of fun. We are STILL waiting to warm up here. It has been raining forever! Today is supposed to be in the 70's woo hoo. As for getting lost, just get a good city map, from the visitor's center or something, a phonebook, your cell phone, and have at it!

ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea for him and for you! And congrats on getting out and about! While it might be a little bit scary, getting lost in a city and finding your way back home is the best thing - you never know what little "gems" you will find!
