our 1st weekend back in Utah

It was fun!

Saturday we had a bbq with family - I got a picture of the deviled eggs, and then I got too busy eating & forgot to get pictures of all the other great food! Aunt Julie made a dip that was to die for. We topped it all off with homemade peach ice-cream!

Saturday morning we went to the farmer's market in downtown Ogden. My I.L.'s joined us and we had a good time checking everything out.

I like the fresh produce. Something about it makes me happy.
Rowan just chilled in his stroller & eventually passed out.
Yes, we bought a bag. Who can resist Kettle Korn?
This kid is a salesman in the making I tell ya! He was selling honey that his family "makes." It didn't help that my M.I.L. use to be a helper in his school classroom and knew him (he didn't remember her) so there was even more pressure to buy. He did do a really good job at pitching his product and we came home with a fresh jar of honey.
On the way back to the car we stopped at the taco stand and got a $1 taco. Yum! Jonathan put the super hot stuff on his and somehow some of the sauce got onto my taco- holy cow! They aren't lying, my mouth was on fire!
We enjoyed an evening in the backyard with family and food.
Our loot from the farmer's market included:
fresh corn on the cob which we ate at the bbq
kettle corn
mini pumpkin chocolate chip loaf of bread
kitchen towels for Carol
A loaf of bread from this amazing bakery in Kamas - we ate it Sunday for dinner
8 0z of honey
Some things that didn't make it home:
a scone from Great Harvest Bread Co.
a deep fried burrito thing from some Filipino people
2 cups of lemonade from some cute boys - .50 cents a cup.
I don't know about you, but I think I will be hitting up the farmer's market as much as I can the rest of the year! Join us if you want.

  2. How fun. I have never been to a farmers market. Nor have I ever stopped at one of those taco stands. I'm glad to hear they were good.

  3. I love those taco stands. I hit one 3 out of the 4 days at lunch this week! On Tuesday they are .75 cents and they gave me a card and when it's punched 6 times I get 4 free tacos! YAY! I love Rowan's scrunched up faces!
