as much as i love rowan's great head of hair, there comes a point when it is even too shaggy for me, and i like shaggy, on rowan and his daddy. but the poor kid was developing a mullet, so it was time. the thing that made me finally take action was the coupon we got in the mail for a $6.00 haircut, and just like that we were off to great clips.
and since rowan did so well - 100 times better then he did the first time - i got him a happy meal (his first ever) when it was all over. ok, and let's be honest, mommy needed a caffeine fix. the above picture is very true to life. if rowan is in his chair eating, miles is right there waiting for something to be dropped, and let's be honest, a 15 month old drops plenty in the lunch eating process - sometimes unintentionally, but plenty of intentional dropping goes on.
no worries, that is not soda in his sippy. i got him lemonade, which is also quite the treat since this kid normally gets milk or water. doesn't he look so handsome?
profile shot of "the do." the beautician this time treated it like a bonafied haircut. she got out the buzzer and everything! she also let rowan play with her alligator clip, so between that and the licorice i was feeding him, he got through the ordeal like a champ.
and here he is inspecting his slightly freaky avatar toy that came with his meal. we might just have to make this a new tradition. be a good boy when you get your haircut and you'll get a happy meal. not the greatest reward, it's like, "here son, i am giving you the gift of clogged arteries." but, considering i only manage to get his haircut every 3 months or so, i guess 4 happy meals a year wont make him addicted to fast food, or an obese child. so i suppose i can let it fly.
**both Jon and I called his cut "the Hitler cut," and that was before we had even spoken to one another. hilarious.**

Awhhhhhh, he looks so cute! He is sure turning into a little toddler .... not so much a baby any more. Sure do love my little birthday boy. Kiss him for G.V.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at the "freaking Avatar" toy ...I'm gonna have to start hitting Micky Dee's for some awesome toys !
definitely like his haircut, but you know me and shaggy hair. and don't worry, this will be the first of a ga-jillion happy meals to come, but it's ok. as long as it's not every day, for both the pocketbook and the belly!
ReplyDeletecute hair cut. we love happy meals. it is a once a week treat for chase...which means kelly is right and I now have a bin of crappy happy meal toys. and i agree...those avatar toys are freaky. but chase wants to sleep with his avatar horse.
ReplyDeleteVery nice haircut. It looks great! And Happy Meals once in a while - no big deal. Gotta enjoy life too.
