We braved the crowds and the cold again this year and embarked on Temple Square with Jon's family. And again I left wondering why we do it year after year. Don't get me wrong. Love the family. Love Temple Square. I just always leave saying, "WHY DO WE THIS?" This year was especially crazy. Of course it's always crowded, but try going Thanksgiving weekend. Nuts-o. We all met up at City Creek since our original destination, Crown Burger, was busier than anyone had ever seen it. Getting to City Creek took forever. So many cars. So many people. The food court was insane. We were seriously standing by tables waiting for people to leave so we'd have a place to sit and eat. We kind of ate together- a few of us at one table, and another group at another table. After we'd all shoveled in our food we crossed the street to the temple grounds. Where we quickly separated again. And at that point I said to heck with it. I told Jon we were going to walk slow, take pictures, and enjoy the view! I get sick of going just to try and play catch up the whole time to ensure we all stayed together. And so that is what we did.
Sawyer stayed bundled up and was pretty content most of the time.
And getting a normal picture of Rowan was pretty much impossible.
But he was darling and just wanted to see "baby Jesus" the whole time.
We finished off by showing him all the nativities. Then a picture with the temple and we were outta there.
But lucky us, on the way back to our car, we saw these two guys! And Rowan actually wanted to talk to them and have his picture taken. That right there made the whole crazy night worth it!
And even though I have a love/hate relationship with this whole thing I am sure we'll be right back at it in 2014.
Well I'm glad you went because the pictures of the boys are adorable and I love them! You look especially pretty as well. I had to chuckle at the one of Rowan in front of the one nativity that looks like nesting dolls. LOVE IT!! And sweet Sawyer is so cute even when he's not smiling! Enjoyed them immensely!
