Just a few short weeks ago people were asking me if my belly itched. At the time I could answer with a very confident, "NO." And in a matter of days, like many of my pregnancy ailments, my itching belly has appeared out of nowhere. It went from completely itch free to drive me crazy wake me up at 5 in the morning kind of itch. It is so bad at times that I seriously consider calling the doctor, but then I remember that this joyous condition is just another pleasantry of pregnancy. Should I be surprised that I have not escaped the itchy belly syndrome? NO. Like the many other conditions I hoped to avoid with this pregnancy I quickly learned that I was not going to be one of those fortunate souls who got away unscathed. At this point I am just planning on every possible thing happening to me that pregnant woman don't want to have happen. And that includes going over on my due date and not have this little man until September 20th or later.

Ah, the joys of pregnancy. Yes, I remember having that crazy itching at the end of the first pregnancy. Thanks for reminding me since I had conveniently forgotten about it.
ReplyDeleteTry moisturizing like crazy. If that doesn't help, ask the doctor what lotions he recommends. Hang on -- it will be over soon!
Hahaha, I like you more and more with each post, and I already liked you to begin with...
ReplyDeleteI totally feel every ounce of your complaints, because I was right there with you with every single one. Not fair.
My doctor said you can put an anti-itch topical cream on when it's real bad news...hopefully that will help you.
Ahhh, soon enough you'll have your lil babe in arms and it will all be worth it. Truly.
The worst story I heard while prego, was a lady who had a pile of worts grow all over her face during her 1st trimester. She immediately had them frozen off but they grew right back. As soon as she had her baby, they disappeared and never came back! What in the world?? I don't know, but remember it can always get worse!! :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Try drinking LOTS and LOTS of water...?
ReplyDeleteI'M SOOOOO GLAD YOUR EXPERIENCING ALL THE WONDERFUL AILMENTS THAT GO ALONG WITH PREGNANCY! ......NOT!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is: "It will all be a fading memory when you have little Rowan in your arms" and every one of those miserable things will seem soooooo worth it!
Tori's story is SICK!
ReplyDeleteAuh, the blessed itch, I know you know but just keep loobing up on creams. Try not to use too much hydrocortizone(sp) because it thins out the skin, and actually makes the itch worse and takes longer for it to go away......from experience with exzema. :)
Im suffering from constipation. ha ha ha, I cant wait until Jackson comes, because Im used to being done in 5 seconds flat, now I actually have to read a book. ha ha ha, I knew youd get a kick out of that.
oh by the way, I looked at the NUK binkies and wanted to get them because they're the traditional look but I opted for the AVENT brand (I still love AVENT) because they were 20 cents cheaper). :) Im seriously considering to get one of those miracle swaddle blankets that Hillary told you about. They look great!
Oh poor girl. Hang on, only a little bit more to go. But you will have some good story to tell him on every birthday he celebrates! I haven't had the itching so bad yet with this pregnancy, but I had it a lot with Jason I remember. I do have a cold now and have never wanted cold medicine more in my life. Oh the things we are grateful for when we are done!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the great advice has already been given, so I'll just say your post title CRACKS. ME. UP!!! Love ya, sis! ;-)
