Aren't they pretty?

OK, I gathered together 3 frosted sugar cookie recipes. The first one I tried is from
here. I would give this recipe an
8 out of 10. The frosting is quite good and since I seem to really stink when it comes to making frosting I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. I like the thickness of the cookie- not too thin and not too fat. BUT my
one hold-up with this recipe is that the cookie comes out
a bit dry for my liking. It says to cook for 4-6 minutes - I took them out of the oven after 4- 4 1/2 minutes. It's not too terrible and I really am enjoying them, but it is the big reason why I am going to move onto the other 2 recipes I have. After all, I am looking for the
BEST sugar cookie recipe! When I get around to recipe #2 I will be sure to report back. I am sure out of 3 recipes I will find my favorite- and who knows, it may turn out to be your favorite as well!
** After eating another cookie that was clearly only baked for 4 minutes I have decided that the dryness does improve quite a bit. If you are very careful about not over cooking them at all then this recipe is awfully good. However, I am still testing out the remaining 2 recipes.
copied and pasted - done.
ReplyDeletewaiting for your review for #2 & #3 recipe - waiting. :)
And YES they do look pretty, actually quite nauseatingly pretty. Pretty enough that I want to eat them all tonight with a huge glass of milk.
I really like your new blog background.
I think I need to go raid my pantry for something good now, but I'm sure whatever I find won't cut it after seeing your cookies!
ReplyDeleteYou're gonna make me fat! Those cookies look delightful. I am glad you are keeping yourself busy. The blog looks great! I am going to need to try these recipes. I have one that has been in my family forever, but it never hurts to try something new.
ReplyDelete4 days to go, that's what your little baby calendar says...oh my gosh...good luck! I hope very thing goes well. Side note: I did jumping jacks the night before my water broke. (I was desperate; I really didn't want to go to work the next day!)
ReplyDeleteI copied the recipe and guess I'll have to try them! You are going to sabatoge my diet success sooooo bad if you keep this up while I'm there. By the way, if you don't pop little Rownan out pretty soon, you'll have a good chance of hitting my birthday....coooool!
ReplyDeleteLove the blog layout! And I have the same issue with sugar cookies - they have to be soft, and NOT TOO DRY, LOL!!! I hate when you take one bite, and you end up with a handful of crumbs where you used to have a cookie, LOL... so I really appreciate your review here! :-)
