if he does not come out NOW!
Seriously, this "little" man is going to be a 10 pounder if he doesn't bust out soon. Do you want to know how I know this? Because I went to the doctor today and I have gained 4 pounds in the past week! MAN! I was really hoping this weight gain had come to a halt, but clearly my son is enjoying himself and his food supply way too much. Sadly, nothing much has changed- that's 2 straight weeks of same ol' same ol'. However, she did strip my membranes today so hopefully that will get the ball rolling. However, I have to say that was not enjoyable one bit. Can we say, "OUCH!" She did say his head had dropped quite a bit, so I guess that is good. Keep your fingers crossed that baby will not make me make an appearance at the doctor's appointment I scheduled for next week- week 40+.
Hey~ you don't know me, I am a friend of Stillman & Michelle, but I have been following you blog...hoping you announce your baby is here:)
ReplyDeleteWith my last baby 2 1/2 years ago, my dr. striped my membranes, and I was in labor the next morning. I will be praying for you. I am sure your uncomfortable. Hang in there...
Yeeeeeeeeeeahch, I've heard that is MISERABLE!!! :-( Hope you're in labor soon! And don't worry about baby size - my dr. thought Kiddo was going to be almost 9 lbs. or over, but he was only 8,4. Anyway, feet up, woman!!! :-) Maybe a leg massage, too? ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh girl!!!!....just a little bit longer!!!
ReplyDeleteOh you poor girl. That is awful. I sometimes think it would be easier to not know the progress (or lack there of). Then we wouldn't be hoping to go before 40 weeks. I have heard that stripping the membranes really hurts. You poor poor girl. Well I will pray for both of us!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay Heather, drastic times call for drastic measures! Have Jon give you a foot rub tonight, focusing on the back of the ankles. This is an acupressure point and could help get things moving even more. If you get real desperate there is always castor oil and orange juice. This makes you pretty sick though. It clears out the bowels (usually inducing labor). I wish you tons of luck. I wouldn't worry to much about the baby's weight. It's probably just water retention. Love ya!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the weight gain. It's all just water weight at the end. It sounds like he'll be coming soon. We can't wait!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was working and past the mark I thought I would go into labor (my mom and Bonnie ALWAYS went into labor 2 weeks before their due date so I was SURE it would happen to me too) I just KNEW that my water would break at work and I kept thinking I could care less if it does because that means I could say "Im leaving this joint succor"! People would often say, "youre still here?" and I wanted to sock them in their mouth or kick them in the balls. :)
ReplyDeleteI never got my membranes stripped but my ex sis-in-law did and told me it was painful, so I feel your pain. Yikes.
Now just do the stuff I e-mailed you, Bonnie did and look at her, 2 weeks early!!! Sheesh!
I agree with everyone about h2o retention and the weight gain. Its nothing to worry about, but I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND what youre thinking. I pray that I dont have to push out a mongo baby! Talk about epidural for sure!!!
I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU!!!
membrane thing worked for me once, i walked A LOT right after...you should get walking. That boy needs to come out. My second baby, I had my membranes stripped 3 TIMES! Yuck, didn't work. I hope you don't have to suffer much longer.
ReplyDeleteMy baby came 3 days after my membranes were stripped... hopefully it works for you! Can't wait to hear the story. Hang in there, Heather!
ReplyDeleteStrip your membranes?? That doesn't sound enjoyable & I haven't heard of that before. I'm not sure if this is all such an enjoyable experience. I'm getting scared for my future. I'm very proud of you though. Your a tough chick and I know you can get through anything. He'll come soon.
ReplyDeleteDo you think the weight gain has anything to do with the sugar cookie's! LOL Just kidding! I know you must be miserable but it will be here before you know it! SERIOUSLY! With all the extra ciricular activities (wink wink) it won't be long!
ReplyDeleteAHHH! Heather! I'm sorry! Well I don't know much about it, but I'm sure you're itchin' to get him out!?! Hopefully he'll join you guys soon!
ReplyDeleteTake care! Love ya!
uh oh, I havent heard from you........are you in the hospital? I cant wait, I cant wait, I cant wait.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I have to say that is one of the CUTEST and FUNNIEST baby pics I've ever seen in my LIFE! :-)
ReplyDeletehey girl, I know exactly how you feel. I always go 1-2 weeks over. It is hard to be patient, but it will come. Good luck. it is an amazing experience to give birth. A miracle!!
