Grandma Verne meeting Rowan- she's in love.
Literally minutes after walking in the door grandma Verne was busy changing diapers.
And later that evening she was busy giving Rowan a sponge bath...and it seems it doesn't matter who gives it to him- he still hates it.
But once he is dry and clothed is as happy as can be.
My mom flew into Arizona today! And she'll be with us a whole week. We are very excited to have her here. Maybe I'll get to catch up on some sleep! She is having a lot of fun with Rowan and she is being a big help- changing diapers, giving baths, clearing the table, emptying dishwashers, loading dishwashers, and everything else in between! We'll do some fun things while she is here- after all this is suppose to be a vacation!
Aww... how sweet! I know she's lovin' it! Have fun with her there! I bet she could hardly get any sleep last night! Hehe... love you guys!

ReplyDeleteKatie hated diaper changes, sponge baths and getting her clothes changed when she was a newborn too. Took the two of us to do these things for the first 5 weeks (Chris was able to take leave for the first 5 weeks after she was born). She was such a strong baby one had to do the changing while the other tried to hold her legs still. She absolutely hated it. Babies are just used to being warm and snuggly.
ReplyDeleteSOOOOO sweet! Love how skinny his little legs look! So glad you're doing great & are planning on getting out a little, too - my mom's visit was all diapers, pumping, trying to nurse, doctor's appointments, lactation appointments, everything else...
ReplyDeleteAnd that's great that you're doing frequent sponge baths! We were terrified to get Kiddo wet b/c of his belly button & circ - he got like, one sponge bath before his cord fell off & he was good to go for a real bath :-).

Sponge baths are the worst! I would hate them, too. How fun to have your mom in town. Make sure you take advantage of that!

ReplyDeleteWe miss you Verne. Try leaving a warm washcloth on his tummy the whole time. Thats what we did.
ReplyDeleteYep, enjoy it while you can. I've never really experienced having a mom to come help me for more than a few hours let alone a week. I still don't know if I ever will since I live in the same city as Laverne & my mother in law. And now I have #3 on the way and hubby won't be here when he's born :(
