We love you grandma Verne
Sadly I had to drop my mom off at the airport today so she could fly back home to Idaho. I stayed strong until I was back in the car and driving back to my apartment with just Rowan. I didn't even make it off of airport grounds before the water works started. I had leaky eyes all the way home. Jonathan called while I was driving and I couldn't answer because I was bound to really lose it then when I had to actually speak the words, "I dropped my mom off. She is going home." Just goes to show that it doesn't matter if you are a newborn or a 26 year-old with a brand new baby- you always need your mommy. SO I hope all you ladies out there who are fortunate enough to live close to your mom appreciate having them close- it's the pits when you can't see them regularly. The 3 of us will miss you mom- thanks for coming and staying with us for a week. I really appreciate your help- letting me catch up on sleep, changing diapers, giving baths, feeding us, making chocolates, and just your presence. You are welcome anytime. I love you.

ReplyDeleteI did the same thing after we took my mom to the airport after Samantha was born. It's tough, but you'll make it!
ReplyDeleteWe're all there with you in our thoughts - it'll get better, I promise {:-). You just find new ways to stay in touch (I still call my mom almost every week, and blogs are great)! I'm so glad you had such a wonderful visit, too! :-) Love you!!!
ReplyDeleteThat picture is beautiful! So, your mom was gone for a week, and I was getting anxious for her to get back cause I was missing her! I can only imagine how you are feeling! You guys need to start skyping so she can see all of Rowan's new tricks as he grows up. I really hope we will be able to see you guys soon. I can't wait to hold that little man!

ReplyDeleteOh I'm sorry she had to leave. That is always so sad. I'm glad you got to have fun while she was there. I read your mom's blog and it sounds like you watched way too many tv shows though. And you wanted to reupholster the sofa? If you had actually done it I would have sworn that you did not just give birth 2 weeks ago. Glad you're feeling good!

I love that picture! you guys are models!! Even Rowan;) I love your mom. She is so awesome. If she were visiting me I wouldn't want her to leave either. So where are Chris and Princess living now? That is awesome that she will be getting baptized. Chris Is such a good man and I am glad he has got a good girl now. I'd love to see all of you together again. It is almost halloween and I remember trick or treating with you and chris a way way long time ago. it was fun. sorry for rambling, but you know. hey again... good job mama!! rowan is beautiful!!!

ReplyDeleteoh dolly, like we've been always talking about, when we're older and our husbands are making millions we'll be able to be with each other often, and our kids will play play play. then we can afford to see our parents as often as we want (well you will be able to see them all you want).
