My big boy on the doctor's table.
Rowan had his 2 month check-up the day before Thanksgiving. He always manages to get some sort of bodily fluid on the table- this time it was puke. He is in good shape- weighing in at 12.3 lbs and 24 1/2 inches long (95%). Poor little guy had to get three shots, but he took it like a champ. I am so glad Rowan is healthy and happy. The doctor gave me the OK to let Rowan "cry himself to sleep." We have done it the past couple of nights and I have to admit it is nice getting him down for the night before 2 in the morning, but it breaks my heart when he cries for longer then 20 minutes. ( I usually hop in the shower so I can't hear him and leave the hubs to get his heart broken by the baby's blood curdling cry & I hope and pray he has passed out by the time I finish lathering up)
He is looking so big!....2 moths already?....wow!!!
ReplyDeleteCute family picture on the side! That's great you can let him cry himself to sleep. It's bad to say, but I'm looking forward to that! :)
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, you'll get used to it. Pretty soon you might not even hear him cry, you just kinda block it out. You are such a good mom!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stinkin cutie! I am very proud of you for already attemping the cry himself to sleep routine, it took me FOREVER to get to that point with my first!
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy checkup! And I feel your pain on the sleeping/crying thing; Kiddo was 10 months old when we had to let him learn to tough it out, out of sheer exhaustion on our part. So I started during a naptime, when there wouldn't be too many neighbors trying to sleep. And he scREAMed for an hour and a half. His second nap? An hour. Night-time? 15 minutes. And it was SO liberating! You do learn to tune it out, and sleeping on their own is just something they learn to do... I also figured that we weren't doing Kiddo any favors by not letting him learn to go to sleep without us at his age. Since Rowan is still so little, I doubt that you'll have so many hours of screaming to look forward to every time ;-). Happy sleeping!!! :-) And double-congrats on the checkup!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. Isn't listening to them cry, on purpose, the worst. But, the sleeping through the night thing is very worth it! And what a big boy! You must me making ice cream! Glad you all are doing good.
ReplyDeleteYeah! He's such a cutie! Getting long and filling out! Man, I miss him....you too!
ReplyDeleteThe crying to sleep? Breaks my heart every time. Im like you, try to do something to avoid hearing it, or thats atleast what I did with Val. Jar was used to it because when I worked until 11pm I got home at like 11:30ish so he put her to bed. When I got my schedule changed I didnt really understand what he had to hear when it was her bedtime. So sad.
