7 weeks, 7 hours

Let me explain...
One CRANKY baby who is REALLY tired.
Two tired parents out of ideas.
Solution- car ride for all 3.
Outcome- sleeping baby & happy parents.

Not only did the baby fall asleep, but he STAYED ASLEEP the whole night! That is right folks- Rowan slept for 7 hours straight when he was 7 weeks old. It was lovely.

(Once he had fallen asleep in his carseat we could not chance taking him out of it and waking him up, so we left him in it and put it in the bassinet.)

  1. Yay! You finally ALMOST got 8 hours too! Or did you not take advantage of the situation and go to sleep when he did? I love his toes in the picture. He looks like he's really stretching them. I need some face pictures of the little tyke! NOW!!!!!

  3. Oh so familiar!
When Bellamie was a baby...brand new...she just didn't want to sleep. My clever husband, while up with her one night, swung her to sleep in her carseat and then laid the carseat...baby and all...in the crib! When I asked what he had done to get her to sleep and he explained, I asked, "do you think she'll be safe?"
He responded, " I don't think the bed will move anywhere." Aren't those carseats tested at high speeds...pretty sure she's safe."
And we all slept happily ever after!

  4. I remember those days! Scotlyn has been getting up in the middle of the night lately. It is making me crazy! This morning she was in her crib just talking to herself at 4 a.m. She wasn't crying... so I stuck a pillow over my head and went back to sleep... and eventually so did she!

  5. He who cast the first stone.... We did this a number of times. The car seat makes me laugh. We actually put Jayden's little baby/toddler chair in the bassinet for him to sleep in permanently. the bassinet was too spacious for him. It was nice because it raised him up so I didn't have to bend over to get him.

  6. Love that picture! We're doing the same thing with our baby now. She loves sleeping in her bouncer, so we just set it in the crib. Glad you finally got some sleep!

  9. Sweet! That's too cute with the car seat in the bassinet. Smart thinking. We were blessed with Katelynn - she started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks old. Maybe being bottle fed (formula) had something to do with it. Sure was nice.
