What goes with a fresh bowl of fruit?
You might have seen my post on recycling. If you did then you know I said I would show you my reinvented kitchen table. Here she is. A little primer and spray paint can go a long ways! My father gave me this table before the hubs and I were even married. It was some brown wood- observive, I know. It was sturdy but worn and in need of some TLC. I primed and painted the table ages ago and then never got around to the chairs because I wasn't sure what color I wanted them to be. Shortly before we moved and had the baby I primed the chairs. Finally last week I got around to spraying the chairs. And I just decided to go for it- bright colors. OK, well I did leave one white- I am debating on whether or not to leave it white or paint it green- opinions? Anyhoo just goes to show that our "old junk" can be reinvented and made into something that we like and fits our personal styles. Save money. Save the earth and her resources. (Eventually we will have to get another table that is bigger since we'll EVENTUALLY have more kids, but I plan to keep my "oldie." I think it will work well as a craft table for the kiddies or something.)

How fun! I would've never thought to do that, all different colors. I know my daughter would love to do that.
ReplyDeleteI like the white color.
That poor little lonely white chair... he is crying to be as colorful as his siblings. Quit playing favorites and give that chair some color, already! A really cool apple green would look fantastic!!! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteYou're awesome to do crafty stuff with a new baby! I've been wearing pajamas for the last month and haven't even thought about crafts. I love the red chair especially.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Heidi, paint the bastard green. Ha ha ha haaa! (I hope that made you laugh as much as I laughed when I typed it, we'll call that comment the "bonnie (my sis) comment).
ReplyDeleteGood idea too!!!
you know, Im totally the same way, if you have something thats resonably well off, why replace it? (uhhhh, unless its called an Oldsmobile Omega, then thats a differend story.....he he heee). We're using my parents old kitchen table and its perfect for us. Eventually Ill have to sand it down and re-finish, it but thats not until a couple of years.
Ive recently gotten into Becca's and Whitney's mode of getting rid of things. And it feels GOOD! I love donating to the D.I. but this next load I dont want to store anything so Im just trashing it, its just toys that WE DONT NEED CLUTTERING THE HOUSE ANY LONGER. Val has pleanty of toys, we get a lot from Bonnie, and I just spoke with her last night and she said she's got more. okay, great, time to get rid of some of ours. YEA!!! and if theres something of Jareds that needs to go, you know I always do that in secret. :) He'll never know. But we are keeping his smaller clothes, its just like my smaller clothes, we have hopes of losing weight right? And I, like you, still wear my clothes from High school. And cant justify buying clothes from expensive places.....that has to wait until we're millionaires, and even then I dont think Ill get freaky.
Heather I LOOOOOOOOVE YOU!!!
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteWhite is good - it lends a modern twist; but I think green would be nice & "complete," too! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd you did a GREAT job!!! I would have no idea where to start with a project like that, LOL...
And Hillary, you crack me up!!!
It looks great! If you can tackle that you can tackle the couch too! I really wish we could have got to that project when I was there but I wouldn't change all that cuddle time with Rowan for anything. By the way, I need more pictures! Possibly one of Rownan on the black table with colorful chairs surrounding him! Yay! I like the green chair idea too. I love red and green! What did the hubby say?
ReplyDeleteYou're cute! Hehe! Love the reinvented furniture. I can't wait til Chris and I are able to decorate the way we want.
ReplyDeleteI think... you should leave the chair "as is".
Very colorful. I definitely think the chair should be green though. The white is kind of hidden by the white walls.
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny. I also was thinking that white chair should be green! I painted my table black this summer, but now I need to fix the rush seats on the chairs. I think you did a great job! Keep posting all your creative adventures!
ReplyDeleteme likes! very chabby chic! i kinda like the white, it goes with the palish blue and yellow, but i see i have been grossly out voted. i'm picutring grass green however, and its just not jiving. am i crazy?
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to say - paint the chair green. It looks too basic in comparison. Go bold or go home!! :)
