Cover yourself Bertha.
Ever wonder what a couch looked like without fabric? Here it is. Oh and get this- I found another quarter under the last part I ripped off. Yes, that means I have now paid a mere .50 cents for this couch.
As I ripped off more and more layers and began to see the inner workings, I realized this was going to be harder then I thought. No worries, I am still up for the challenge. Next up: seam ripping. I loath seam ripping.
Well at least you know now what she is made of. Good work so far girly!
ReplyDeleteI admire your enthusiasm...........
ReplyDeleteThat is one ugly couch, but I'm sure you are going to make it look like BEA-utiful!
I just think it's so dang funny that you found .50 cents in her so it cut the BIG price down to .49 cents! LOL that is hilarious! Ole Bertha is gonna be gorgeous when your done!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally impressed that you are undertaking such a project. Good luck. Stealer deal.
ReplyDeleteWhat an undertaking! I can't wait to see the finished product! How did you learn how to do this? I hope John is very impressed with your craftiness because I sure am!

Man oh man! I wish I could be there in person to watch this undertaking! So, do you have the fabric picked out. I'm curious! Keep up the hard work!
ReplyDeleteYES!! You are going to have to tell me how this goes, and um, how you did it exactly, because I told my husband a few weeks ago he could not throw away a fabric bench out of Nana's house, as I planned to re upholster it to match our bedroom and sit at the bottom of our bed. He just looked at me incredulously and said "do you know how to upholster?" No. No I do not, but I WILL!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love this because you bought a couch for 50 cents! Unbelievable, and we have a hide away bed we named Bertha at my mommy's house...warm fuzzies/splinters and achy back. :)
ReplyDeleteSeeing Ms. Bertha's dirty nakedness makes me want to sing "mr grinch" from Dr. Seus.
ReplyDeleteIm so proud of you Heather! oh yes, and I really like the fabric, isnt it the neatest thing what we can do with a little inspiration, even from a small black button?
