This is all I have eaten today, besides the Frosted Mini-Wheats I had for breakfast.
homemade tortilla chips & homemade salsaSALSA RECIPE
ingredients: tomatoes, peppers, onion, garlic, cilantro, limes, and salt.
how-to: boil tomatoes, peppers, onion, and garlic for about 15 minutes. Take out ingredients with tongs and place in food processor/blender. Add in cilantro, limes, and salt to taste.
** It's kind of trial and error thing as to how much of each ingredient to add. Depends on your taste buds really. I would suggest using a food processor if you have it. I don't have one so I used a blender. Still good, but very pureed. I like pureed, but Jon prefers chunky. For my first batch I used 5 roma tomatoes, 1 small onion, 2 jalapeno peppers, 2 cloves garlic, and kept adding cilantro, lime juice, and salt until it suited my taste buds.
TORTILLA CHIPS
ingredients: flour tortillas, conola oil, salt, and chili powder (optional)
how-to: cut tortilla(s) into 8 triangles. Brush conola oil over each triangle. Sprinkle with salt and chili powder (optional), and place on baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350, or until golden brown.
(** special thanks to Gladiz for the salsa recipe!)
