Arizona, I miss you.

I woke up to rain this morning. The rain quickly turned to snow. SNOW. In September! Really? This time last year we were bringing Rowan home from the hospital, and I was paranoid my newborn was going to get heat stroke. What a difference one state north makes! Now that newborn, who is now a 1 year old, is wearing jeans, a t-shirt, sweatshirt, and socks! As I gave him his morning bath you could see the joy on his face as I poured warm water down his back and chest. He looked up at me with a huge grin as if he were thinking, "Ahhhhhhh, that feels good." I am half tempted to take a hot shower just to feel the same warmth seep through my skin and permeate there for a while. I don't love snow. I am the kind of girl who likes a white Christmas and that's it. So no, I am not a lover of the white flakes, but I do appreciate it since it does help me justify staying in my pj's all day, not doing my hair, not putting on make-up, and not brushing my teeth until 11 am. For that I say, thank you snow. Today people can't blame be for locking myself inside and not bothering with hygiene. And now that we are living in Utah again, that may be the case for the next few months.

In the second picture the snow has stopped, it has melted from the backyard, but it's still in the mountains, and it's just gonna keep piling up!

  2. Ditto this entire blog. I am in my pjs and was sad about the snow. It should only be allowed in December and January! Guess I'll go drink some hot chocolate and pout :)

  6. just fyi - it is always so much colder and you'll get way more snow up at your place than at ours. it just rained for us. sorry. the benefits and downside of living up the hill. and at least it isn't june. it snowed in june like four years ago. so it could be worse.
