BEFORE
and AFTER

Since Jon's parents were going to be in China by the time the grapes were ready to be picked, the responsibility fell to me & Jon. Labor Day weekend we pulled out the ladders and every big container we could find. We started out having Rowan outside with us, but after he kept putting everything and anything in his mouth that he found on the ground, I decided I would be a more efficient worker if Rowan were inside. After getting him comfortable with a bottle, toys, and dvd, I headed back out. Jon and I checked on him frequently, but not frequently enough apparently. You see, I went to check on him at one point, and found him by the kitchen table looking out the window. Innocent enough right? Well, let's talk about what he found before making his way over to the window. Grandma's china dishes. Yep, he not only found them but he also pulled some out of the hutch they sit in. Grandma's china was now broken china. Considering how much he pulled out I am shocked only two things were broken - two small salad plates. Needless to say, I stayed inside the rest of the time while Jon finished picking grapes. I don't feel bad about leaving the picking to Jon, afterall, I am the one who had to juice them.

I got my Juice done too and it's a good feeling! It's good tasting too! I did 25 quarts and not 1 piece of broken china! LOL I didn't have a toddler to watch either! GOOD JOB!
ReplyDeleteThat is no small feat! Great job you two! Every door and cupboard in my house has baby-proof locks on them...otherwise I would get absolutely nothing done or everything would be broken in my house, either one. Maybe both.
ReplyDeletei'm impressed with all the juice. bummer about the broken china. whoops!
ReplyDeleteImpressive canning day! Kudos to you (and to Rowan, for only breaking 2 dishes)!
