Father's Day/28th B-day

Well, my birthday fell on Father's Day this year. Must not happen too often, cause I can't remember the last time I shared the day with all the dads. I wasn't sure who would wake up with Rowan Sunday morning. Does the birthday girl get to sleep in or does the daddy? Well, considering Jon didn't get home til 4 am on Sunday morning (he was working on a 48 hour film festival) I decided he better sleep. I also knew I could work on the project below all morning while he slept in. I traced Rowan's hand and cut out a whole bunch and then cut out hearts. On the little hands were reasons why Rowan loved daddy, and on the hearts were reasons why I loved daddy. So that is what Jon woke up to on Father's Day. He also got the movie Gentlemen Broncos.

Later in the day we headed to Jon's parent's house for a family dinner and birthday cake.

I told Jon to take pictures, but after the singing was done and the candles blown out I looked over to see that the camera was just sitting on the counter by Jon. Nice picture taking right? So this is a picture of me reenacting the blowing out of the candles. Whatever. Next time I'll be sure to put Kelly in charge of pictures.

Jon left Saturday morning at 4:30 am to work on that film, and my friend Jenny wanted to take me to lunch for my birthday. My in-laws said they would come watch Rowan so I could have a nice kid-free lunch! We planned it so Rowan would sleep the whole time they were there. Worked out great.

Jaime couldn't meet us for lunch, but she came over later in the day with her little boy Oliver and we ate some chicken and watched a movie. Thanks friends and family for making my 28th birthday so enjoyable!
