Half a decade as man and wife!

Our 5th wedding anniversary was Friday the third, and it worked out nicely cause it was also Jon's day off.  I went for a run in the morning since I knew I was going to be eating lots later in the day.  Around noon we headed to Salt Lake as a family.  We didn't have big plans, I just didn't want to spend the day at home.  I had been wanting to get pictures of all of the places where Jon and I lived while we were working and going to school in Salt Lake for a scrapbook, so that was the extent of our plans.  Whenever I am in the heart of downtown SLC it makes me miss living there, and I think, if we are to stay in Utah, that is where I would like to end up.  After getting all the pictures of our old apartments (post on that later) we parked the car and hit the streets.  We both had to pee, so our first stop was the library, where we peed and then took this picture inside the elevator.
As we were headed down from the Avenues I saw a little thrift shop and this bakery.  After browsing the thrift shop, we went and got a big chocolate chip cookie to share.  Rowan ended up getting 99% of it.  That is OK, it kept him happy in his stroller.
They had some really yummy looking desserts, and if we ever go back without Rowan I will definitely be trying something other than a chocolate chip cookie!
Later in the day we dropped Rowan off at Aunt Erica's house (thanks!) and headed to dinner.
We're kind of boring in the sense that when we go out to dinner (for special occasions) we almost always go for Thai or Indian.  Today we went for Indian, and it didn't disappoint.
The chicken Tikka masala and coconut chicken were oh so yummy, and naan just might be the reason I love Indian food so much.
We didn't come home with leftovers.  We totally went hog wild on that food.
I kind of wanted to go to a movie since it has been a year since I have been to an adult movie alone with Jon (I saw Tangled on Christmas day with Jon, Rowan, and my mom and Megamind with Jon and Rowan at some point after that-oh! I did go see Country Strong with my mil and sil's when it came out...), but Jon didn't want to see any of the movies that were out, and that is how we ended up at Lowe's.  Romantic, I know.  Jon got some toilet parts for his man cave toilet.  I do what I always do when I am at Home Depot or Lowe's, daydreamed in the model kitchens.  I can't wait til the day when we can give our kitchen a face lift.  I also browsed the lights, again, dreaming of the day I can replace all the ugly gold light fixtures in our house.
We ended the night by getting dessert, of course.  Jon ordered the large, and it was quite large, so I grunted when he got it, and then he gave me the piggy pose.
We had a good time, and let's be honest, time away as a couple without kids is pretty much great even if you are watching paint dry, but getting back to our little dude was nice too.  We're grateful to have Jon's sister close by when we need a sitter, cause he loves going to her house, and does really well there.
