Carol's Surprise 60th!

This past Saturday was mom Larson's surprise 60th birthday party.  We'd all been given assignments to ensure it would be a success.  As she walked into the house- we were all hiding- she said, "I am so nervous."  (Or something like that)  As she came around the corner we all yelled, "SURPRISE!"  Fun stuff.  She said she really didn't know anything was up but as they neared the house she just began to feel weird-like something was going on.
The birthday girl.  Her pin says "cougar."  (Jon's choice)

Erica brought a game called, "How old was mom when...?"  It was hard!  Everyone worked on that while we enjoyed Costa Vida salads.
The birthday girl with all her kids.
As grandma made her grand entrance we all sang Happy Birthday to her.  And yes, I was mean and made her wear props.  And if you can't figure out what is hanging from her shirt then you are too young to know.  :0)
We all made a 12x12 page to go in a scrapbook for her.  In addition to that we all put our heads together and came up with 60 reasons why we loved her, and put all those into a little book.
Here's the "60 reasons why" book.

It was a super fun party.  Carol was genuinely surprised and appreciated everyone's efforts to throw her a memorable birthday party.  We ate food- Craig was in charge and got Costa Vida salads.  Played games that focused around mom.  Watched a slideshow of pictures showing mom throughout the years.  Ate cake.  Watched her open gifts.  The usual.  It was a fun night.
