Life Lately.

Just some random pictures of what's been going on over here.
Rowan is still napping.  HALLELUJAH.  I seriously can't wait for nap time most days.  Not because Rowan is being naughty, but because I have no energy and need a nap myself.  On this particular day, Rowan fell asleep in the middle of playing with his dinosaur.
Jon's parents called us one day with a sweet offer.  They attempted to put their old fridge in their half kitchen in the basement, and discovered it was too big for the space.  They called and asked us if we would like to trade them fridges.  Hmmm.  Let me think.  YES!  So now they have a fridge that fits better, as do we, AND I have a silver fridge!  Now all I need is a silver microwave and the kitchen appliances will match!  However, they are all different brands- but who looks that close?
Jon took- and passed- the GMAT test!  I had total faith that he would pass, so while he was away taking it I baked up a celebratory cake.  I even managed to make a banner topper that said "Good job Jon."  Sorry the picture is so blown out.  Hopefully he'll get in to the program and begin school as soon as July.  I am sure Jon is thrilled to be done with all the GMAT studying that overtook his evenings for a couple months.
I keep flip flopping on potty training.  One day I say, "I am not going to make him do it until he is ready."  Then the next day I find myself asking Rowan every 20 minutes if he needs to pee.  I let him go commando, place the potty right by the TV, and remind him that if he goes potty he gets to pick a treat.  And then I lose my potty training steam when he pees on the carpet.   I know in the end I'll be waiting until he's ready, but every time we start to get low on diapers I hope that I wont have to buy more, and decide to give it another go.
I am 24- almost 25- weeks pregnant!  It seems to be going by quickly- definitely faster than my pregnancy with Rowan.  I feel big, and can't believe I have three more months to just get bigger!  I am trying to be useful and productive, but I can definitely tell when I have overdone it.  If I am busy in the morning, by evening I am dead and my sciatic nerve is killing me.  Needless to say, I better get going on the nursery before I am too large and too tired to do anything.

I was in the kitchen yesterday cooking, and I hear Rowan saying, "Mom, help!"  When I eventually got over there, this is what I found.  Rowan strapped into one of the baby chairs walking around.  I started cracking up and went to grab my camera.  He was a good sport and posed while I snapped a couple pictures.  I think the fact that I was laughing helped.  And now I know that if I am in a pinch for a costume, this seat works great as a turtle shell.
For mutual this week my adviser and I took the girls to the Primary Children's Medical Hospital in SLC to drop off baby blankets we sewed a couple months back for another one of our projects.  Of course it took a lot longer to get there and back than the actual drop-off took, but I am glad we finally got them where they needed to go.  We bought them sundaes from McD's before dropping them off at home.  Thanks to my mil being kind enough to let me borrow her car, we were all able to travel together in one car.  My adviser and I tried to talk on the way home, but the girls wanted the radio on, and they kept saying, "Turn it up!"  Which I was fine with, cause heaven knows I was probably doing Chinese fire drills when I was a Beehive.
