We've been so pleased with the progress Rowan has made since beginning preschool that I just had to give his teachers a little thank you gift, especially considering Rowan will not be attending the same school next year. I didn't do anything fancy, just gave them each a strawberry freezer jam. I was kind of surprised to see that other parents hadn't brought them anything. We got to the school a little early, so Rowan gave each of his teachers the jam and then we took pictures. His speech teacher wasn't there, so no picture with her.
Audrie, Margaret, and Patty. Rowan got quite attached to Patty.
After Rowan had eaten the center from about 6 Oreos and drank two cups of Root Beer we said our goodbyes, and got one last picture with all three teachers.
I had been promising Rowan that he could play in the water for a couple days, and since we got home earlier than we normally do on a school day, I let him have at it.
We invited his friends Nora and Jude to join us.
None of us had eaten lunch yet, so we had a little impromptu picnic on the front steps. PB & J's, apple slices, and oatmeal cookies. Two cups of water spills later and the kids were full and busy playing again. I tried to get a picture with everyone, but Nora and Jude were too entertained my the tractor next door to be bothered with a picture. Surprisingly, my son sat long enough for me to get a picture of him and Susanna. He LOVES Susanna. We hang out with them a lot and she is also his-well, was his- nursery leader. He still occasionally goes to nursery if he's having a rough Sunday. He can't say her name- he says, "Soo-suh." He said it once correctly and we were all in shock. After a couple hours outside it was time to head in for naps. I have a feeling it is going to be a long summer break. Especially since the school year ends as I head into the final leg of this pregnancy. Wish me luck! Rowan will start preschool again less than a month after I have the baby. Hopefully we can establish some sort of schedule quickly. My hope is that the baby will be awake when we take him to school, sleep while he is gone, and be up by the time we need to pick him up. Hopefully Rowan and I can have a lot of fun together for the next couple before he becomes a big brother.
How fun for Rowan!! The teachers did a great job and deserved the jam!! So sweet of you! Loved the pictures! Rowan is growing up ! bitter sweet!!
