Rowan kept giving me the mega cheese smile. And yes, he is still wearing his water shirt since the original plan was to swim.
Even though you are not actually suppose to play in this- it was Rowan's favorite thing to do. Luckily employees weren't walking around, so we let him have at it.
After what we thought was a sufficient amount of playtime we told Rowan it was time to go. We hadn't eaten lunch and Jon was starving and starting to get a headache. We got his shoes on and got him out of the play area OK, but once we took him outside he freaked. Man alive. It was not pretty for like the next twenty minutes. He was being a major stink, which of course never puts mom and dad in a good mood. He eventually calmed down and asked for his pop and pizza. (When we were leaving Kangaroo Zoo we told him we were going to get pop and pizza hoping that would make him OK about leaving.) By the time we got to Costco for lunch- like I said, we are big spenders, Rowan was calmed down. Good thing, too, as I was ready to throw myself out of the car. The whole weekend he was a bit of pain, and he definitely had me freaking out over the fact that his brother will be joining us soon. I fear it might be a long summer break for this mother. I just hate the fact that taking him anywhere causes anxiety because I know how he'll act when we have to leave, and it's no bueno and leaves me in a very fowl mood. Something similar happened when we took him bowling last week for FHE. Luckily Jon and I seem to take turns and one of us always seems to be able to stay calm while the other one gets extremely annoyed and ticked off. I hope the three months off from school doesn't make Rowan regress, cause he really has come a long way in the past eight months. I would hate to see him take steps backward! Hopefully it was just an off weekend.
Love that cheesy smile. I have heard lots about the kangaroo zoo but like you will most likely never go due to the price. It does look so fun, though. you will be fine with 2 kids. Once the baby gets old enough to play with, he will help Rowan stay out of trouble. Good luck this summer!
