Here is our garden. It's Jon's pride and joy. Seriously, he loves it. Every single day when he's on his lunch break he goes out there to see what's new. And I swear he brings in a zucchini or two every single day. We have yet to harvest anything else, but things are growing! I think we'll have a cucumber soon. There are tomatoes, but they're still green. There is also a tiny watermelon, but we aren't sure if there is going to be enough time for it to fully grow. Our cantaloupe and basil are the two that seem to be doing nothing. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. Jon's ready to build another garden right next to the one we already have. I told you, he's loving it. Who would have thought! I told him he better wait until next year since I wont be doing much cooking once the baby gets here, and I already have zucchini coming at me left and right.
Jon decided to go out and weed our flower bed the other night, and on a total whim he went all out and beautified it. I am thrilled. The bricks have been at our house ever since we bought it, but they've just been sitting in the garage. He's thought about using them as a decorative edge around the flower bed, but he finally did it. He also added the bark. All in all this little area is looking much better. Now if only the plants would grow! This dry heat day in and day out is really doing a number on our lawn and plants.
I finally made some progress on the nursery. Which, funny enough, may actually end up being Rowan's new big boy room instead of the baby's nursery. I swear, I can't make up my mind about anything. Since this is the smallest bedroom, I plan to take the closet doors off so I can utilize the space as much as possible. I thought it would be fun to have a accent wall, but I couldn't commit to one of the main walls, so in the closet they went! I really like it, and makes me excited to get the rest of the room done.
The first fall we were in our house we bought two trees for the backyard when they went on mega clearance after the summer. One has done really well, and one has only produced leaves on like the bottom quarter of the tree. We decided to give it one more shot before pulling it out and calling it a dud, so Jon cut off the top 3/4. So that is our nub of a tree. I have to say, it already seems to have more leaves than it's ever had, so hopefully it's salvageable. For now it looks pretty dorky, but trees aren't cheap and we aren't made of money, so we'll live with dorky and hope it looks better next year.
And that is about it for around the house and yard.

Where do you get all your energy woman?! I swear I always feel like a lazy sack when I read your posts and all the cooking you do on fb posts! Perhaps you are just made differently :) I can say that so I don't feel like such a loser haha. You are freaking adorable preggers and I can't wait to see your new little babe! Super cute house and yard too!
