Happy 4th of July!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!
We couldn't find Rowan's hat, so he wore one of daddy's.  They looked pretty cute together in their matching hats.
Daddy points to a jet in the sky before the parade starts.
My cute little patriotic 3 year old.
The heat even had this kid wiped out and sitting in the chair most of the parade!
Family shot.  Since the guy taking it chopped half our bodies off I just look fat and not pregnant, awesome.
Rowan with a firetruck as we headed back to the car.
Later in the day we headed to Jon's parent's house for a bbq.  I attempted to get a family shot, but it didn't really work.  It's tough when people are chewing.

On the fourth we braved the heat and headed to the Liberty Days parade in Layton.  Sad that by 10:30 it was so stinking hot, but ah well.  We got away late- like 10:20 late- and the parade was scheduled to start at 10:30.  We found parking along Main St. and walked about a block up to where people were seated.  Holy crowded.  We got lucky and found a street that the cops had just blocked off, and were able to claim a spot before a whole bunch of other people.  The bad part- on the pavement with no shade whatsoever.  The parade started late, so I am glad we didn't get there any sooner than we did.  We thought we would have a pretty good view of the parade, but right as it started some idiots came and stood to the left of us, but like 1-2 feet up.  Basically they were in the road while the rest of us seated were behind the invisible line so to speak.  We were so annoyed.  And that is where they stayed the entire time.  At one point a cop or someone on a bike peddled down kind of pushing people back to where they should be, but it didn't take long for them to sneak back up.  Seriously, people with no common sense bug the crap out of me.  We couldn't see the parade until it was right in front of us because of these idiots, which meant I couldn't get any fun pictures of Rowan and the parade.  (Our wide angle lens is broken)  Luckily Rowan didn't mind, and he sat in the chair most of the parade.  He was ready to go before it was over, I am sure because of the heat, and we were more than willing to oblige as we couldn't handle looking at the butts of the idiots who disregarded all the people seated there before them.  We beat the crowds and getting back to our car was speedy quick.

  3. People are idiots at parades. Seriously, last year was the first year we weren't seated by rude inconsiderate people... wait, we were sitting by you! That is why it was so nice. :) I don't know what it is about the parades, but it brings the jerks out of the woodwork. And if you have kids, they are especially jerks! Every other year that has happened to us and it makes me angry that they (the adults) think it is more important for them to see a parade than a small child. And for them to get the candy than a small child.
Look at your long gorgeous hair! Wow. Beautiful. I love that you posted a side belly shot right after the tummy cut off shot. It made me laugh. Just proving you really are pregnant, right?

  4. You should have sat by us. We had shade behind us and no annoying people. (unless you think it's annoying that Aaron cheers loudly for every float or group that goes by)
