My almost 4 year old all ready for another year of preschool. Thanks to the $10 Kohl's giftcard we received in the mail we finally got him a big boy backpack. I gave him a trim last night so he wouldn't be so shaggy on his first day of school, and we just had him wear some "new to him" clothes, cause heaven knows there will come a day when I can no longer get away with that, so I am milking it while I can. I thought he looked quite cute. This year he is going to the elementary school just down the road and he'll be going three days a week instead of two. The only thing I am a little worried about is that he's going in the afternoon instead of the morning. He's been falling asleep at church, so hopefully he can stay awake at school.
I had Jon take a late lunch so he could go with me to drop him off. I wanted the extra hands mainly because I didn't know how Rowan would react since he's going to a different school, and obviously, has different teachers as well. I am happy to report that he did awesome. Didn't seem to have a care or worry in the world. He just seemed excited to be back in a classroom with new things to play with. He went right to the circle and sat down. He was sweet and got up to give me two hugs before I left. Course I didn't get anything done in the short two hours he was away. I was hoping to get my grocery shopping done, but Sawyer decided he wanted to eat. Apparently Rowan's teacher doesn't have his paperwork yet, so she doesn't know anything about him. I filled her in when I picked him up, because she said he had a hard time because he kept running (must have been when they went outside) and that is not allowed. She had to put her hands on his shoulders, and he did not like that. He kept saying, "Let go!" Knowing it could have been much worse, I was happy to hear that was the only mishap for the day. He was happy and cooperative when I picked him up, which wasn't always the case last year. Best of luck to Ms. Burt and her crew, they are going to need it from time to time!

ReplyDeleteWait, Keith is going there, and his teacher is Ms. Burt. Weird! Keith is in the morning. I wonder if they have the same teacher!
ReplyDeleteGreat that he is so excited to be back, and that he is doing so well. That is wonderful.
