Rowan in his annual birthday shirt. This year I thought it would be fun to make one that said something about what he's been interested in. Dinosaurs!
Rowan turned the big four on Sunday. Since his birthday was on Sunday we opted to celebrate Friday and Saturday. Friday afternoon we headed to Salt Lake. We had thought about taking Rowan to the Mayan Adventure, but found out it had closed. We figured he'd be happy going to City Creek. Between the fountains, the fish, the dino playland, and McD's, he was a happy camper. After hanging out at City Creek we got ice-cream at Leatherby's before heading home.
I don't know what it is about water that attracts kids like magnets, but he loved playing in the water at City Creek and the temple.
Rowan and his dino cake. I decided to be a cool mom this year and make him a "fancy" cake. It wasn't complicated and didn't take hours so I didn't feel bad knowing that it was just going to get eaten.
His friends Nora and Jude came with us to the park, and joined us later for pizza and cake. Rowan had a fun day, but I am not sure he gets the whole "it's your birthday" thing. I asked him how old he was on Sunday and he said, "I'm three."
The birthday boy with his all his new dino stuff. Jon and I got him a dinosaur toy from Imaginext. Thanks to the $10 Kohl's giftcard and the fact that they were having a 30% off sale, we only paid $7 and some change for it! Grandma Verne sent him a dino shirt that came with a dinosaur toy. He was pretty excited to wear his shirt to school.
Happy birthday my not so little anymore Ro-bro! We love you.
