Our Christmas card. We had taken another family picture that I liked better, but Sawyer wasn't looking. Jon tried to fix it in photoshop, but it looked weird to me. I assume other people wouldn't have noticed it, but my anal personality just couldn't handle it. In our second one everyone was looking, but it's slightly blurry. Also bugs me, but it would have to do. At least the individual shots of the boys turned out.

I got an early start on my shopping. Living in Layton it gets crazy come December, so I wanted to get all my gifts by the end of November. I didn't have too many to buy and I got some off Amazon, so it was manageable. I even got everything wrapped by early December. Go me!
It just wouldn't be Christmas without sugar cookies! I took the easy route and bought the dough and frosting. Course Rowan only likes to look the frosting off the cookies, but he has fun decorating them. I wanted to make a french bread like casserole for our Christmas morning breakfast, but then I remembered that my son is a very picky eater, and more than likely would not eat it, so I just decided to go with pancakes. Jon and I got eggs and sausage too.
Rowan was suppose to be an angel in the nativity. He just wore the wings for a bit while wearing nothing but his shirt and underwear, which were on backwards, making for some great blackmail photos, thanks son!

Finally remembered to get a photo of grandma Larson and Sawyer. She was there for his birth, and this might be the first photo I have of the two together. Sawyer cuddles with his giraffe from grandma Vernie.
Rowan finally has his own camera. Hopefully this means he'll stop trying to use ours. He's a quick learner and already knows how to use it all by himself.
Course Sawyer loved playing with the wrapping paper.
Rowan with his gingerbread house. He was being a stinker- hence the folded arms and defiant look. Regardless, I was so happy he actually wanted to decorate his house this year. It's really nice when he shows an interest in group activities, and activities he didn't care about before. Again, he enjoyed the frosting. Surprise surprise.
Me and my big boy. Seriously, I can't believe how big he is getting. Since having Sawyer it's really strange to pick up Rowan. You definitely know how big your firstborn is when you have your second- especially when they're four years apart!
Rowan's masterpiece. He got "most friendly house." About 30 minutes after finishing it he was asking if he could eat it. Hello, my name is Rowan, and I am addicted to frosting.
My kiddos Christmas morning. Rowan had no interest in wearing his pj's Christmas Eve night. He didn't even want to read "The Night Before Christmas." He opened the gifts, tossed them aside, and went to bed. I was a little bummed. I have these "visions" of how I want things to go, and with Rowan things often don't go as planned. I am still learning not to expect anything when it comes to Rowan, and to not be too disappointed when he doesn't share my vision.
UPDATE: The pj's this year were a total fail. Sawyers were size 6-9 month, and they totally fit. We're taking them back since they'll fit him for all of a week. Rowan never wanted to wear his. I got him to keep the bottoms on for a while. Apparently firetrucks just don't do it for him. Waist of money.

The boys were spoiled by Santa, grandparents, and cousins. Course Sawyer doesn't get it, but he'll enjoy his toys when he can master sitting up. Rowan has been playing with his new toys nonstop. I plan to pack up some of his old toys. I like the rotating toys and it's nice not having to pick up every single toy Rowan owns on a daily basis.
It was a good Christmas. I love getting gifts and being surprised, but really my most favorite part is being the giver. Christmas really is so much fun when you have kids. I look forward to when the boys are older and understand more. Maybe next year Rowan will. I know another year will fly by and Christmas 2013 will be here fast. Time to get the the decor down, and get ready to welcome 2013.

Well the boys looked cute in their pjs. I loved the pics in that chair. And I do have my purple bumbo chair. It's yours to borrow if you still want.
