Inspired by Pinterest I decided it would be fun to do 14 days of love instead one day of love on the 14th. And since I decided to do this on the 1st day of February, I didn't have much prep time, and so I busted out the Valentine's Day bags we made a couple years ago. And you know what, it works. Simplification- it's a thing I am trying out, and I gotta say, less stress is a good thing.
I had to do some grocery shopping last night, so I was able to pick up some treats for my boys to be distributed over the next two weeks. And since we hadn't eaten dinner yet, I picked up some Sushi for Jon as his treat. Nothing fancy, just the sushi made at Smith's. Rowan got a few Starbursts.
And since I want in on this deal too, but don't want Jon stressing over it, or feeling like he has to buy me something, I told him sweet little love notes would suffice. I really do love reading the things he comes up with. Today he left me a note that read "You're sexy and you know it." Which of course just makes me think he must have heard the LMFAO song recently.
I cut up some white card stock and fancied it up with some washi tape. Placed the cards along with a pen right by my bag, so everything is ready for Jon when he's ready to get all touchy-feely. I purposely made the cards the perfect size to pop right into the sleeves of our family scrapbook album.
For day two I decided to send Jon to a movie. Yes, alone. But hey, we never go to movies and there are some pretty good options right now. I figured one of us needs to see them. And he really doesn't mind going to shows alone. I am also married to a man who goes a little stir crazy when he's home for too long. And when he goes crazy I go crazy. Getting him out of the house is a good thing for both of us.
Rowan got more treats. When he saw the bags on the counter he said, "Wow, that's awesome!" Should be fun to think of things I can surprise the boys with for the next couple weeks. Again, keeping it simple. Dark chocolate for Jon and Skittles for Rowan. Maybe on the 14th I'll kick it up a notch. Here's to love!

What a great idea! :) I should get working on it and do something fun for lunchboxes, at least... happy February! :)
