A quick recap...

Sawyer is still a dream baby. He easily weighs 20+ pounds. We love him and all his rolls. Jon walked into the bathroom this morning and said, "Heather, I am sorry. I have some bad news. Sawyer said da-da."

At the beginning of February I was able to have a sleepover with some of my BF's.  Short, but sweet.  Maybe not happen again for a while since Jenny is having a baby at the end of March-her first, and Kristi is have a baby in June -her fourth!  We all met up Friday night at Jenny's condo in Pleasant Grove.  After dinner at Magelby's we went back to the condo and turned on Strictly Ballroom.  We casually watched it while we chatted and soaked our feet.  Saturday morning Jenny made a really yummy breakfast and then we headed to the new outlet mall in Lehi.  We helped Annika spend a lot of money.  (She's single and kid free so she can actually afford to shop!)  Then Jenny and I both had to leave, so we parted ways.  Like I said, short, but still great fun.

A couple weekends ago Rowan bonked his head and had to get stitches.  Actually just one, and it's a good thing cause holding him down for that one stitch was crazy.  Since we were too cheap to pay our copay for the follow-up visit to have the stitch removed, we did it ourselves with a pair of nail scissors.  Cause seriously, I am not going to pay $20 so the doctor can make one measly snip.  That being said, I really did like Wee Care Pediatrics, and especially enjoyed that they had TV's in the rooms.  Kept Rowan entertained (and distracted) while the "peanut butter" numbed his cut and surrounding area.

Rowan with the "peanut butter" on his cut and after with his stitch that you could barely see.
Sawyer loves to chew on my measuring tape.  So while we eat dinner, he's usually in the Bumbo drooling all over that.  Speaking of drool, he has two bottom teeth.
Had these lotions on hand, so I slapped a little message on top of them and gave them to Rowan's teachers on his last day.  There's only one teacher and one assistant, but Rowan also has his speech and special ed teachers.
Rowan said goodbye to his old teachers and hello to Ms. Charlotte.  He's now attending a school in Kaysville 4 days a week.  Better for him, smaller classes and more days, but a bigger pain for me.  It's now a 15 minute drive and there is no easy drop off.  I have to park the car, take Sawyer out, walk him into the school, down the hall, and wait for Rowan the whole time because he has to point out every rocket ship along the way.  (The school is Columbia, so, as you can imagine, there are plenty of rocket ships to be seen.)  His previous school was within walking distance and I could drop Rowan off and still leave Sawyer in the car since his classroom was the first room once inside- I could see my car while  getting Rowan checked in.  Ah well.  He seems to be making progress already (i.e. one tantrum on day 8 as opposed to 4 tantrums on days 1-4ish)
We'll miss Emily.  I really liked her.  She was Rowan's special ed teacher.
I took Julie to get her driver's license last Friday.  I told her she had to get a picture to mark this special occasion in one's life.
Had breakfast at Denny's with Amy and her kid's.  We dropped my car off to get the safety & emissions done, and then went to eat.  Rowan was a little pill initially and had to be taken out of the restaurant.  After having a talk with him he decided to behave.  Course he was still climbing all over the booth, but at least he wasn't screaming anymore.  The car people never called to tell me the car was finished, so we took the kids to the park.  They didn't last long.  Between falling in the snow, losing shoes in the snow, and being cold we loaded them back in the car.  By this point Rowan was pushing my buttons so I suggested we drive by to see if my car was done.  It was.  (Thanks for not calling me Fast track!)  We said goodbye to Amy and kids and went home.  I almost kept Rowan home from school because he was being such a stinker, but decided I would rather have a break and let the teachers deal with him for a couple hours!

Last weekend it was so nice I just felt guilty staying inside, so I insisted we take Rowan to the dinosaur park.  We also hit up the nature center/conservatory place in Ogden.  We didn't get to spend much time there tho since they closed at 4 and we got there at like 3:45.  Can't wait til we can enjoy more weekends outside!

I finally started the re-upholstery process on these chairs from Jon's parents.  It's going to be a big undertaking, so I hope  they turn out OK!  The pros wanted $500-600 to do them both, so I had to suck-it-up and just go for it myself. At this point I am just glad to have the old fabric off.  The chairs were filthy and covered in mouse pee and poo.  It'll be so nice to have new clean fabric on them!

  2. What an eventful last little while! :) Glad you were able to take Rowan's stitch out yourself; sitting through that is a mark of a True Big Boy! :) And I'm so happy for him and everyone, that he's having an easier go of it in school - what a blessing! :) Cutie boys, and fun furniture re-dos... have fun with all of them! :)
