My day ( I know you're all interested)

The day started off good because Rowan slept really well last night- he went to bed at 2 a.m. and woke up at 5:30 a.m. - I fed him a bottle without even moving him from his bassinet and he fell back asleep when he was done. Then he woke up at 8 or so when the hubs left for work. I fed him and he stayed awake til 10:30 a.m. and then slept again til 1 p.m. - which means, I got in a nap! So me and baby are both well rested. Which is good because just last night the hubs said, "I don't think you're getting enough sleep." "Why do you say that?" Said Heather. "Because you're kind of grouchy." Said the hubs.
When Rowan woke up at for a couple hours at 8 this morning I decided to give him a bath. He is starting to enjoy them more now. After he was scrubbed and smelling as a baby should I couldn't resist taking this picture of him all wrapped up and cozy in his towel. Darling eh? Yes, I am a lucky girl to have this beauty in my life.
All smiles here. Shorts! Shorts in late October! Yep, that is right- it's 92 today. Oh, and Rowan is thinking, "Are you all jealous of me?" (chuckle chuckle) - Well, he is either thinking that or he just pooped. Either one could bring on a smile.
Rowan and I made it out of the house today- always a good day when that happens. I finally decided to pop into the Fresh & Easy grocery store since I have been meaning to for a while now. And I am so glad I did! I found these two dinners (perfect for two) for about $7 total. Which to me is a good deal because if I were to whip these up myself I would spend way more then that after buying all the ingredients. Plus, they look delish and the hubs and I love curry dishes. I can't wait for dinner tonight. So Fresh & Easy is my new favorite store and could make me lazy since I know I can get cheap ready-made meals - it may be a while before the hubs gets a home cooked meal.
I also stopped by JoAnne's (fabric) to get some Christmas ideas. I was welcomed by the smell of Christmas- better known as pine cones. It put a smile on my face. As I walked through the store I was shocked to see the price of some High School Musical Halloween accessory items. The quality was dollar store worthy, but the price was definitely not $1 store friendly. For a cheap-o plastic pair of headphones- $12.99! I guess you are paying for the packaging- it said "Sharpay" on it. Also there was a cheap-o pair or pom-poms. Like the cheapest looking pom-poms I have ever seen and they were $19.99!! Seriously, HSM is making a killing. I hope none of you gave into these overpriced items that are giving Zac Efron a hefty paycheck, nice cars, and trips to Hawaii. The best part about my trip to JoAnne's was the conversation I overheard between two young boys:
"Walmart sucks."
"Yeah, there is nothing to do at Walmart."
Pretty deep huh? So I guess if you have young boys don't take them to Walmart- take them to JoAnne's because I guess there is stuff for them to do there.

  5. Hi Heather, Im sorry I havent been commenting on your posts lately, Ive been really tired, all Ive wanted to do is get on the computer, read a couple of things then sign off.
Im glad you got out of the house. Thats awesome, and I agree with you that theres nothing better than a cooked meal thats cheap and healthy. Thats what Jared Valerie and I do a lot!!!!! If I find something thats cheap and healthy, Im getting it and its on my grocery list almost forever. like Marie Calanders frozen lasagnas? They are soooooo good. and they have a serving for 5 thats only about 5.50. Its a really good deal, we buy ours at walmart in frozen.
Im going to my doc today, and she'll check my cervix for the first time. she didnt check it last week just because I havent been having a lot of contractions, so we'll see if anything is happening down there. My right hip/butt/pelvis area is hurting and I use my dads old cane to get around. Sometimes I have to crawl around my house to get around. Sooo fun. :) Val thinks its fun because she thinks Im pretending to be a horse.....a horse she cant ride.....and she calls the cane a hanger.
Rowan is so sweet, I love his cuddly towel picture. And shorts in October? WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?

  6. I would love to know how to upload my pics faster. That's seriously the biggest reason I put off blogging. Do you guys use Picasa or some fancy photo editing program? I'm on Picasa now because apparently it's easy to change the size of my pictures. Any advice would be welcomed!

And, I LOVE the picture of Rowan smiling on your sidebar. And I love those nights of extra sleep. Bless those sleeping baby moments!

  7. LOL! Yeah, I guess Walmart doesn't hold the same appeal for kids as it does for us mommies, LOL...

And don't worry - your life-after-newborn is perfectly normal! :-) Glad you were able to get a little more sleep, too!!! (And Rowan is getting SO big already!!! :-)

  8. Very cute pictures of Rowan~ I'm glad that you both are getting better rest. I myself have been a grum-a-lump to Chris. Don't know why. I think it's from all the stress. Job, Moving home?, baby planning, the house. grrr... well take it easy!

  10. Fast easy would be my best friend too, if we had one. My poor husband is overloading on fast food right now. ugh, and fatness for us all.
I find myself wondering- how does Heather have all this time to craft, and shop, and post on blogs everyday of her life, when she just had a baby? Mozel tav for whatever it is you're doing... and could you send some of it this way? Thanks.
