Marilyn in the spotlight

I can't remember exactly when the tradition started but at some point in my youth I stopped getting pj's on Christmas Eve and started getting ornaments. Not just me- all of my siblings. The boys would get basketball and football players, my sister probably got
Disney, and I got movie stars. Those of you who know my mom know she is quite obsessed with ornaments, so it only made sense that this be the tradition she had with her children. Not only did she get to buy more ornaments to put on her tree but she was also giving her children a special gift that could be used for years to come. As it goes her children grew up and all have families and homes of their own, and yes, their own Christmas trees. And every year we hang the ornaments that were given to us by our mother. We admire them once again as we take them out of their packaging, but really we think back on a time when life was a little less complicated. We think of Christmas mornings together as a family. All of us living under one roof and enjoying each others laughter and company. Most of all we think about our special mom who not only gave us an ornament, but love and memories that will last forever in our hearts.
Oh Heather (tear tear) I'm so glad I was able to do that for you kids! I love you all so much and I'm glad I was able to make some good memories for you!
