1st soccer practice/game

Rowan had his first soccer practice and game Tuesday evening.  We were super impressed with how well he did.  Not that he made any goals or even tried that hard to get the ball, but the fact that he stayed on the field and ran around with his team was a total success in our book.
Here are the kids practicing with Coach Nate before the game.
The kids chasing Nate around the field while kicking the ball.
Rowan with his team.
He looks happy!
Taking a break.  There are six or seven kids on the team, and only three play at a time.  We had a hard time getting Rowan to understand that.  Better than trying to convince him to go play!
He was getting tired near the end and went and plopped down by all the balls.
The kids practicing throw-ins.
Nice throw Ro!
The kids were suppose to throw-in to Rowan and he was suppose to kick it to the net.  Not sure that happened, but hey, at least he is standing where he is suppose to.
The kids deciding what their team name should be.  I think they ended up going with "the panthers."
A team cheer before the game!

It was super fun and entertaining to watch all the kids.  If all he does is have fun running around for the next month than I will be happy.  Maybe next year he'll be more interested in making a goal.

  1. How fun. I'm so impressed at how far he's come. I wish they had three-year-old soccer out here.
