jonathan's birthday

Today we celebrated daddy & his 27 years of life.
Daddy wasn't thinking, and packed up the trusty ol' Kitchen Aide mixer a week ago. Hence the store bought, frozen, Pepperidge Farm cake, which, we decided, tasted like a glorified ho-ho. We're not complaining. Who doesn't like a good ol' ho-ho now and then?

Want in on a secret? This really wasn't the exact moment Jonathan blew out the candles. He did it before I was ready with the camera, so he kindly reenacted the moment for me. What a guy.

Daddy and his boy. Rowan even got a couple bites of the cake, but all he wanted was to touch the candles. In all the other shots like this, he is doing all he can to grab the candles. All in all it was a simple birthday.

Food + cake + present = a happy birthday boy.

**special thanks to Emily & mom**

Mother's Day 2008

Well, I had a great Mother's Day weekend. Jonathan and I kicked it off Saturday by doing things that I wanted to do. On the agenda was a trip to Mor Furniture so I could daydream about couches and dream of the day when we can get a new one. Then we headed to Babies R Us to check out some essential items. We spent most of our time looking at car seats and strollers. I think we found the one we want. It was very cute to see Jon pushing them around and trying to figure out how to fold them up. Then we ate at Cafe Rio- yummy! Of course we had to top it off with a Nielsen's Frozen Custard dessert. We could have eaten one each, but we shared. Our final stop was Target where we bought a cute pair of pj's for the baby. Sunday we went to church- none of the ladies in my ward got anything :0( Sunday evening we had our 1st Mother's Day photo shoot! It was fun and I can't wait for next year when the baby is really here! Hope all you mommas out there had a great day too!
